Where the course starts. Computer programming and its specific applications, in Delhi.
Native Android on Eclipse, Titanium Classic and Alloy, PhoneGap and Cordova. Early TV work on NetGem and Roku, plus backend development in PHP's Yii framework.
Started mentoring new developers and running client scoping directly. Took on code review and pull request audits, and shipped across Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, and Fire TV.
Moved off the tools and onto owning delivery: scope, budgets, estimating, risk, and sprint planning end to end.
Built and ran the Mobile Center of Excellence. Managed teams of up to 45 at peak, mentored other project managers and technical leads, and owned project financials and client escalations.
Setting technical direction across mobile, TV, and digital media work. Leading pre-sales and delivery for clients across the US, Europe, and Asia.
I grew up in a small village and came to Delhi for my MCA. Thirteen years later I am still at the same company, Oodles Technologies, just in a very different role.
I started out writing native Android apps and cross-platform ones in Titanium and PhoneGap, plus backend work in Yii and early TV apps for Roku and NetGem. As I moved into leading people, the ground stayed the same, mobile and TV platforms, but the job changed from writing code to setting direction.
Along the way I've managed teams of 45 or more, run delivery across the US, Europe, and Asia, and helped one account grow to about $55,000 a month in billing. I still think like an engineer first. Most of what I do now comes back to what I learned building things myself.
